| Preparing for a Naturopathic Consultation Here are the instructions you need to follow to prepare for a Naturopathic Consultation: - The night before the consultation, stop all food and drink at 8:30 PM. This includes WATER as well. However, if you have any medications to take, take them as directed with as little water as possible. If during the night, you wake up extremely dry, you may take a sip of water to wet your mouth and lips.
- Brush your teeth no later than 9:00 PM
- When you wake up in the morning, collect your first AM urine in a clean container. Any clean jar or plastic container is fine. It should be clean, but does not need to be sterilized.
- If you wake up during the night, feel free to urinate as usual, but do not collect the urine sample until after 5 AM.
- Before having anything to eat or drink or brush your teeth, collect at least 3 ML (1/2 -3/4 tsp) of saliva (no mucous) in a clean container or the syringe if they were supplied to you before your visit.
- Refrigerate the samples if your appointment is after 12 noon that day.
